Nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, our campus is situated on an 800-acre mountaintop property. The surrounding forests are filled with rhododendrons whose bell-like flowers produce a sea of color in the spring. This tranquil environment is where our students slow down and take the time to understand who they are at their core, what is getting in their way, and find the personal motivation to successfully move forward as a young adult.
Our campus is situated on the banks of a lake with a waterfall that cascades into a stream and creates a symphony of sound that instantly relaxes those who hear its song. Here technology and the hustle and bustle of modern life and its distractions are left far behind. It is where students begin the work to find what they have been searching for…fresh ideas for navigating a life of independence.
Our campus is home to a culinary kitchen, student housing, classrooms and a dining hall. Students are engaged through thought-provoking seminars, culinary classes, counseling and learn how to create healthy friendships. It is also the launch pad for adventures. Students participate in paddle boarding, fly fishing, lakeside yoga and hike, mountain bike and backpack on the miles of surrounding trails in the nearby national forests.
Beyond Base Camp
The unique location of the Trails Momentum base camp not only means we have four distinct seasons and plenty of mild weather, it also gives our students access to a multitude of adventure programming. The experiences students will have in the field help to build authentic connections with peers and staff, boost self confidence, develop skills, and uncover inner strengths.
