Ethan Schwartz
Communication and Leadership Educator
Ethan is a passionate experiential educator who seeks to create a safe and engaging learning environment at Trails Momentum. Ethan began his educational journey outside the classroom leading youth leadership field courses with a focus on environmental stewardship. His desire to facilitate powerful experiences in nature then led him to the Amazon rainforest where he was a naturalist guide and managed a volunteer reforestation reserve for several years. Spurred by a devastating earthquake in 2016, he moved to a recovering community in coastal Ecuador to help develop an educational organic farm and green architecture institute, where he taught sustainable agriculture and environmental activism. Inspired by the understanding that ecosystem health and personal wellbeing are intrinsically tied, Ethan then pivoted into wilderness therapy and joined Trails Momentum. He thrived first as a field instructor and now cultivates the same meaningful connections with students in the classroom setting where he empowers students with the interpersonal tools needed to navigate the world.
Outside of Momentum, Ethan can be found at the nearest body of water or reading a book next to a wood-burning stove.
