Matteo Bessone LCSWA, MSW, MS
Matteo Bessone’s experience and approach to wilderness therapy comes from a clinical and educational background crafted around outdoor experiences.
Bessone has an extensive background in wilderness therapy, with over 300 days working in the field as a Wilderness Field Instructor and completed many Outward Bound courses. He has also authored multiple papers on Wilderness Therapy for the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council and has presented at the Wilderness Therapy Symposium.
Bessone brings a wealth of experience to the team. He has a dual Master of Social Work and Master of Science degree in Adventure Therapy from the University of New Hampshire. While he was a research assistant at the University of New Hampshire he focused on the benefits of wilderness therapy. Previously Matteo has worked with families as a Family Intervention Specialist.
When Matteo is not at Trails Momentum he enjoys getting outside, mountain biking, soccer, and tabletop games.
